Whether you’re a regular concert-goer or just heard about a show you’d love to see, the Brown County Music Center (located at 200 Maple Leaf Blvd, Nashville, IN) is one of the best spots in Indiana to catch live music. This 2,000-seat venue brings in big names in a small-town setting — and if you’ve never been, it’s worth the trip.

But if you’re planning to come to a show, there are a few local tips that’ll make your visit a lot smoother, like where to park, how to avoid Ticketmaster fees, and why you should think twice about relying on an Uber afterward.

As someone who’s been attending shows here since the very first one in 2019 — and has more than a few friends who basically live in this place — I’ve pulled together everything you need to know before heading out. From how to get there and what to bring, to what seat to grab and where to grab dinner before the show, it’s all here.

Brown County Music Center Tickets

There are two main ways to get tickets to a show at the Brown County Music Center: online through Ticketmaster or directly from the venue’s box office. And if you’re local or planning ahead, the box office is absolutely the way to go.

When you buy in person or over the phone through the box office, you’ll skip the Ticketmaster service fees entirely, which can save you a good chunk of change, especially for higher-priced shows. It’s also the only way to purchase VIP seats.

The box office is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 5pm, and opens at 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays if there’s a show scheduled. To check availability or make a purchase, you can scroll through all the upcoming shows by month below, or you can call them directly at 812-988-5323.

That said, Ticketmaster is still the most convenient option if you’re buying from out of town or grabbing tickets last minute. I’ll include links to available shows further down in this post, or you can scroll through the widget below for upcoming concerts.

Save-A-Seat: How Locals Lock in the Best Seats All Year

For regulars and superfans, there’s also a lesser-known option called the Save-A-Seat program. It works like a season ticket model: you pay an annual flat fee (per seat) to reserve the same seats for every show.

When new concerts are announced, you get first right of refusal to buy those tickets at face value. If you’re not interested in a particular show, you just pass—no pressure, no penalties.

The Save-A-Seat program is open year-round, although there’s more selection during ‘renewal season’ in the spring. You can contact the box office to ask about current availability and get set up.

Parking, Shuttles & Walking Tips

The Brown County Music Center does have on-site parking, but it’s a paid lot and can fill up quickly on popular show nights. Parking starts at $10, but can vary depending on the show.

If you’re planning to park on site, it’s smart to get there early to ensure you get a spot. The parking lot typically opens 3 hours before the show starts.

You can also walk from town using the Salt Creek Trail, which connects right to the venue. It’s a paved, scenic path and a great option if you’re staying nearby or looking to avoid parking and the post-show traffic altogether. Just keep in mind — there are no lights on the trail after dark, so bring a flashlight or walk with a group if you’re planning to head back that way after the show.

A great alternative to walking or parking on-site? Take the free shuttle from one of two hotel pickup spots in town: the Brown County Inn and the Season’s Lodge Conference Center parking lot. These shuttles are timed around the shows and run on a first-come, first-served basis.

The number of shuttles depends on how busy a show is, so it’s a good idea to check the Music Center’s Facebook page for updates on the day of your event.

And one last thing: don’t count on calling an Uber or Lyft at the end of the night. Rideshare coverage in Brown County is basically non-existent, and you don’t want to be stuck waiting in the parking lot after the music ends. Make sure you have a plan in place before the show starts.

Bag Policy, Safety & Accessibility

Before you head to the Brown County Music Center, take a minute to check your bag—literally. The venue has a strict bag policy in place to speed up entry and increase safety. Bags larger than 6″x9″ aren’t allowed unless they’re clear. Diaper bags and medical bags are the exception, but they’ll still be searched at the entrance.

All guests go through a security screening before entering the venue, which includes metal detectors and a visual bag check. No weapons or pocket knives are permitted in the Music Center.

It’s usually a quick process, but lines can form close to showtime, so arriving a little early is never a bad idea.

If you or someone in your group needs accessible seating, the venue does have options — just be sure to book those spots ahead of time. There’s also an accessible drop-off area right by the entrance, and the whole venue is ADA compliant, including restrooms and common areas.

For any other accessibility questions, the staff is friendly and helpful — they’ve really built this place with the guest experience in mind.

Brown County Music Center Seating Chart

One of the things regulars always say about the Brown County Music Center is, “there’s not a bad seat in the house”—and they’re right. The venue is mid-sized at around 2,000 seats, and the way it’s designed gives you a clear view and great sound no matter where you’re sitting.

The seating is split into three main areas:

  • Pit (Right, Center, Left) – closest to the stage and the only section where standing is allowed
  • Main Floor (Right, Center, Left) – slightly elevated behind the pit, fully seated
  • Balcony (Far Right, Right, Center, Left, Far Left) – highest tier, but still solid sightlines and acoustics

Worth noting: standing is not allowed in the Main Floor or Balcony sections — and the venue does enforce this. You’ll see friendly volunteer ushers (they’re usually local and super helpful) asking folks to stay seated during performances in those areas.

So, if you’re someone who likes to stand and move during a show, you’ll want to look for seats in the pit. Ticketmaster even gives you a heads-up before checkout that standing in the pit is permitted and may block the view for others in that section.

Restaurants Near the Music Center

If you’re planning to grab dinner before a show, make sure you plan ahead, especially on weekends or if there’s a show happening at both the Music Center and the Playhouse. Restaurants in Nashville can fill up fast, and reservations (where available) are always a smart move.

I’ve written a full guide to the best restaurants in Nashville, Indiana, based on years of local experience and hundreds of meals out—literally. It’s packed with up-to-date info on hours, menus, outdoor seating, and which spots are best for families, groups, or a cozy dinner for two.

A few top picks that are especially convenient before or after a show:

  • Brown County Inn – Great all-around option with a big menu, on-site parking, and live music several nights a week. It’s also one of the Music Center’s shuttle pickup locations.
  • Rafters at The Seasons Lodge – A hidden gem with generous portions, remodeled interior, and one of the easiest spots to get in and out of before a show.
  • Ferguson House Bistro – Ideal for a casual date night with seasonal dishes, live music nearby, and a cozy historic setting.
  • Brozinni Pizzeria – Kid-friendly, reliably open, and quick enough for a pre-show bite without rushing.

If you’re coming in from out of town and want to turn the night into more than just a show, you can also make a full evening out of it with drinks, dinner, and maybe even dessert after the encore.
