A word to the wise: Exploring is half the fun in Nashville…until it isn’t.

One of my favorite things about downtown Nashville is how compact and walkable it is.

You can park once and spend hours just wandering—peeking into side alleys, ducking into tiny shops, and finding cafés you’d never spot from the main road.

Exploring without a plan is half the fun (in my opinion).

But if it’s your first time here—or if you’re someone who likes to have at least a little idea of what to expect—watch out for how tricky it can be to find up-to-date info online for Brown County.

Shops move or close without notice. Some places keep quirky hours. A surprise power outage or spring flood can change your plans fast. And while Google tries to keep up, it’s not always accurate.

That’s why I created Tanglewood Hideaway, with digital maps and detailed guides to help you skip the guesswork and still feel like a local while you’re here.

Maybe you’re looking for that winery someone told you about but can’t remember the name.

Or maybe you’re a coffee lover trying to decide between a people-watching patio or a tucked-away nook.

That’s where I come in:

And if you like having everything in one place, I’ve pulled together a page with every resource, map, guide, and printable I’ve made to help you plan your Brown County getaway:

Whether you’re a wanderer or a spreadsheet-maker, I hope I can help make your trip smoother and a whole lot more fun.

Because I truly believe – you don’t have to go far to get away,

P.S. If you’re planning a summer visit (or already dreaming about fall), I’ve got updated monthly event calendars up through August and will be adding fall events soon!

I update these every week or two as new festivals and events are announced, so be sure to check back often.

Antique Alley Shops sign surrounded by flowers and string lights in walkable downtown Nashville Indiana. Benches and historic storefronts create a charming small town atmosphere.

This little pocket of Antique Alley is one of my favorite spots to wander. You never know what you’ll find around the next corner—and yes, there’s a beer garden tucked back there too.
