I’d love your advice and ideas on this one… What’s something you’ve loved at an Airbnb?

I’m taking advantage of the slower winter months here in Brown County to tackle a big project: fine-tuning everything at the Barn Burner.

I think we’re doing a great job already—especially when it comes to hosting large groups and families—but I’m always looking for ways to improve. That’s why I have a little favor to ask you.

When you’ve stayed at a hotel or Airbnb before, has there ever been something that just blew you away? Something big (or small) that made you think, “Wow, they really thought of everything!”

At the Barn Burner, my goal is to provide everything you could reasonably need for a great stay, whether you’re traveling solo or with a group of 29 (yes, we can handle that!). Here’s just a peek at what we already include:

  • Cozy bedrooms with blackout shades, plenty of pillows and bedding, white noise machines, and closets with hangers and luggage racks
  • Stocked kitchens with Starbucks coffee, a variety of teas, basic spices, and cookware galore (everything except the lobster pot—long story!)
  • Bathrooms with all the essentials, from shampoo and body wash to extras like flossers and Q-tips
  • Kid-friendly touches like Pack ’n Plays, high chairs, stair gates, and even some toys and games

When we travel, we often stay in other Airbnbs, and that gives me so many ideas—both for what to add and what to avoid. But after four years of running the Barn Burner, I know I might be stuck in a rut or a little blind to what’s missing.

That’s why I’d love your input.

If you’ve stayed with us before, was there something you wished we had? And even if you haven’t, what’s one thing you’ve seen at a rental that made your trip extra special—especially if you were traveling with a group?

Big or small, practical or fun, I want to hear it all. Just hit reply to this email and let me know.

Thanks in advance for sharing your ideas—I can’t wait to hear them!

Hope you’re staying warm this week,

Kara

P.S. And if you were the person who needed the lobster pot, there’s no judgment here. I’ll think about it! 😉

Slow mornings with coffee, an easy game, and good conversation are one of the best ways to start the day at the Barn Burner.

Stocking all the things to make this possible for our guests makes me so happy, and I’d love your ideas on how to make things even better!
